The O&M instructor will teach clients to travel safely and independently. Since 1900, CLB's mission has been promoting independence for people who are blind or visually impaired. We provide a comprehensive range of programs and services for the nearly 180,000 people in Maryland, DC and Virginia who are blind or visually impaired. We are seeking an experience rehabilitation professional who shares our passion for providing services to our clients. Education/Experience Requirements: 1. A degree in Orientation & Mobility or completion of certificate program through an accredited university which meets the ACVREP 13 core domain areas. 2. COMS Certification through ACVREP. 3. NOMC (National Orientation and Mobility Certification) certification is accepted. 4. Dual certification O&M and VRT or O&M and TVI preferred. 5. 1-3 years of experience in the field of blindness. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: 1. Must be familiar with the blindness community and professional resources, as well as standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the vision rehabilitation field. 2. Excellent report writing and computer skills required. 3. Working experience with databases. All case notes and reports are entered in our internal database system. 4. Dear NOMC As you may know, the Orientation and Mobility Specialists Association, OMSA was created to be a membership organization for all mobility instructors, including NOMC. Here is a link to a new blog that has been created for new professionals. ****** As you are aware, we are creating a blog called New Professionals in Mobility designed to allow new professionals in the fields of Orientation and Mobility to discuss ideas and offer and receive support from other new professionals. http://newprofessionalsinmobility.blog/ We are sharing this information with you in the hope that you will post to the site so that we can continue to work out the kinks before announcing the blog to the profession. We also welcome any feedback from you about your experience using the site. Eventually, we would like to ask you to share the attached letter with your current students and those that have graduated between 2017 and now. Location for cane walk tomorrow

Hello everyone, For those of you that are participating in the Cane walk tomorrow, here are some directions to balcony L, the location of the Cane walk. Use the river elevators to come to the fourth floor when you leave the elevator lobby turn right. Walk to the end of the hallway, and then turn left. Balcony L room will be on the left the first room you come to. There are also two stairways that come up from the third-floor one immediately across from the elevator lobby on the third floor, and another that is down the hall from there, both of which lead into the hallway that leads down to where you would turn left to go to balcony L room.
