Hello Everyone, During our previous O&M Conference call, it was decided that we would have another one this month. With the various things I've had going on this month, and with the holidays coming up quickly, I would like us to schedule the call for October 27th, at 7:00 pm. Provide Orientation and Mobility to school aged children in the Public Schools of Maryland. 2. Provide Orientation and Mobility in the homes and communities of Maryland residents. 3. Applicant should have sound knowledge of structured discovery philosophy. 4. Current N.O.M.C cerification 5. Provides day-to-day training and education of others; works in a creative environment which requires invention, imagination, originality and talent. 6. Best, Stacie Dear NFB community members, Our research team, led by Professor Niklas Elmqvist at University of Maryland, College Park, aims to improve information accessibility for blind individuals through design and evaluation of interactive systems that represent data in the form of sound. We are designing an interactive tool to support data analysis using sound. We are interested in insights from Orientation and Mobility (O&M) training that we may effectively use in our design process. We are recruiting blind professional Orientation and Mobility experts as participants in this research. You also need to be 18 years of age or older. We are interested in your instructional background, specifically your training of blind individuals, how blind individuals rely on sound for creating mental maps of the environment, and how blind individuals use auditory interfaces in activities of daily living. The interview will in total take approximately 60 minutes. The entire interview will be audio recorded. No personal data will be collected (other than for tax purposes) and all data will be anonymized. Participants will be paid a $100 Amazon Gift Card for their time and efforts. Interview sessions will be conducted over the phone, or online using a video conferencing tool of your choice (e.g., Skype, Zoom, or Google Hangouts). Certified rehabilitation counselors

Greetings fellow Cane travel teachers, I am considering going back to school and thinking about getting certified as a rehabilitation counselor. like most of you, I have a masters degree from Louisiana Tech University and I wondered if any of you could suggest a good school where I could study just for the certification without having to get a whole new masters degree. Do any of you know any good programs where our degree would transfer nicely and reduce the number of classes I would need to take? Thanks folks and happy meet the blind month! Sent from my iPhone
