The 2022 Cane Walk

Hello Everyone, First of all, I want to thank all of you that are volunteering your time for the Cane Walk at this year's national convention, and your patience in waiting for additional information from me. The arrangements are now in place, and we have both a room and a time frame for this event. The 2022 Cane Walk will be held in the Balcony L room, and we will have access to this room from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm, which will give us the time and flexibility to provide our traditional two sessions. I would appreciate all of those instructors that are available for the first session to arrive by 8:30 am, so that we can begin the matching of instructors with families as soon as possible. This will allow for a full session from approximately 9:00 am to 10:30 am. Then if those instructors participating in the second session could please begin arriving at 10:30, we should be able to begin the second session at 11:00 am, and conclude at approximately 12:30, with a bit of time to spare for a short break and to answer questions. So, I look forward to seeing all of you at the Cane Walk, and for those of you that have not contacted me as of yet, please let me know as soon as possible which sessions you will be able to participate in. Also please remember that not only will you be providing these young Federationistsand their families with a valuable, possibly life changing experience, but you will also receive points toward your recertification for your participation. Good morning fellow travel teachers, I have been very lucky to be asked to reprise my presentation on wheelchair mobility for blind people that we did in Vegas in 2019. Once again I have a great deal of support from Dezman Jackson and Treva Olivero. Thank you to both of these people for helping me. That?s why we were asked to do it again because you guys helped make it work so well. We are renting three wheelchair types to use as demonstration vehicles in the presentation. I?m asking for volunteers to help me move them from the concierge?s desk, to our training conference room wherever that turns out to be, and back to the concierge?s desk where the company may pick them up. I am currently trying to contact the concierge to get permission to use freight elevators to make things easier and faster as the company will probably drop them off very close to the registration time for our conference. If you are pre-registered for our conference and would like to have a cool, fun ride in a wheelchair with your white cane to help me get these upstairs, please contact me because I sure would appreciate it.
