Subject: Columbia Lighthouse now supporting NOMC in O&M Roles
Hi Dr. Bell,
There are Northern Virginia residents who need O&M training and can't get it
from the Virginia Department for the Blind and Vision Impaired due to a long
waiting list. Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind (CLB) can offer this
training but needs an O&M instructor. We want someone very capable and the
NOMC means that the instructor is well versed in structured discovery.
Based on our advocacy, the CLB has agreed to include NOMC Certification as
an option for the O&M instructor they are hiring. If I recall correctly,
this was a requirement before you would share this listing with others. I
have attached the announcement.
