This year's Cane Walk, we seriously need instructors

Hello Everyone, I have just received word that we have 99 adults registered for this year's Cane Walk. I don't know for sure how many children or families this represents, but clearly this is the largest group we will have served up to this point. This is clearly a wonderful problem to have, but without enough instructors it will most certainly be a problem. It is possible that enough of you are already planning to come to help out, but just in case, please encourage other instructors to give of their time, and please ask this of anyone you believe will feel comfortable teaching basic O&M skills. I would rather have too many instructors, than to have to turn anyone away from this experience. Thank you, Jeff Altman MA NOMCT CVRCB

Hello Everyone, Now that you are busy preparing for this year's national convention, I wanted to remind all of you about the 2016 Cane walk. I hope that each of you will be able to join us for this terrific event, and help share the knowledge and skills that have helped so many young people to gain confidence and independence. Below are the dates, times, and room locations for this event. Please let me know if you will be able to participate, including for which of the two sessions you will be available to provide instruction. Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions, and remember you can receive additional points toward your recertification as an NOMC for your participation in the Cane Walk. I want to extend a special thanks to Melissa Riccobono and the Parents of Blind Children Division for their assistance in preparing for this event. I also want to thank each of you for your terrific response to my requests for instructors each year, this is truly one of the finest examples of Federationism at work.
