Structured Discovery Professionals Training As part of our ongoing commitment to professional development, the Trainers Committee for Structured Discovery (TCSD) Education Subcommittee is pleased to invite you to an upcoming 2-part presentation hosted by our Louisiana Tech graduate students on the history and evolution of Orientation and Mobility (O&M) and the development of key terminology within Structured Discovery. This session is designed for anyone interested in deepening their historical grounding, sharpening shared language, and supporting the next generation of instructors. During this presentation, our graduate students will explore: * A concise historical overview of O&M, including major shifts in philosophy and practice. * The emergence and growth of Structured Discovery, with attention to its roots, influences, and defining features. * Core terminology used in Structured Discovery, why it matters, and how consistent language strengthens instruction and advocacy. * Reflections from new practitioners-in-training on learning, applying, and communicating these concepts. This presentation is part of their graduate preparation and offers a valuable opportunity for community dialogue, shared learning, and professional connection among Structured Discovery practitioners.
