Call for Proposals: Dare to be Remarkable
Call for Proposals We would like to invite you to submit a proposal to present during one of our concurrent 50-minute breakout sessions which will be scheduled on the afternoon of November 11, 12, and 13. Abstracts should be submitted on one of the following conference themes or another closely related track: list of 10 items . Structured Discovery methods and principles across the lifespan. . Successful integration of alternative blindness skills in the classroom . Braille Instruction for students who are blind or low vision . Educational technologies, policies, and practices for teachers of blind students. . Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) strategies and programs. . Strategies for successful transition from education to rehabilitation. . Teaching Structured Discovery methods and techniques in core subject areas (Cane Travel, Braille, etc.). . Rehabilitation methods, principles, and policies that effect instructors and administrators. . Successful strategies for competitive integrated employment . Agency-wide philosophy and culture on blindness. list end Proposal Details Proposals should include: list of 6 items . Title of Presentation . Name and contact information for lead presenter . Name and contact information of additional presenters (If any). . Indicate whether you are willing to repeat the presentation. . Audio and video requirements (Note: you may be required to provide your own equipment) . Abstract that includes a description of the workshop and learning objectives. Selected presenters will be notified by October 2, 2024. Selected presenters will be provided a discounted registration rate of 300 dollars. Hotel Information A block of rooms has been reserved for conference participants at the Courtyard Baltimore Downtown/McHenry Row, located at 1803 Porter Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21230. This recently constructed hotel is in the vibrant McHenry Row neighborhood. All rooms in the hotel are nonsmoking and may be reserved for November 10 through November 12, 2024, at the rate of 179.00 dollars per night, including complimentary parking and Wi-Fi, plus applicable taxes, and surcharges. The reservations must be made by 5:00 p.m., Eastern on Saturday, October 5, 2024. The NFB will provide a free accessible shuttle between the hotel and the Jernigan Institute in the morning and a return shuttle in the evening. The shuttle schedule will be made available closer to the event date.
