National Blindness Professional Certification Board (NBPCB) Memorial Scholarships Arlene Hill Memorial Scholarship This scholarship is intended for individuals who are seeking certification to teach Structured Discovery cane travel through the NBPCB apprenticeship program at an approved training center. This scholarship will be awarded to a person who exemplifies the traits of Arlene Hill-namely a deep-seated passion for teaching the skills of cane travel to blind people. This scholarship is intended for individuals who are pursuing the apprenticeship route-therefore, no college degree is required. The amount and frequency of the scholarship will be determined by the NBPCB board annually, and only at such times as a worthy candidate is identified. This scholarship is intended for individuals pursuing a Graduate Degree in O&M or Rehab teaching, and therefore, admittance into an NBPCB-approved University program is required.
