FW: R-3870- Orientation and Mobility Specialist – Structured Discovery Program
*** Following note sent on behalf of Tai Tomasi *** The Alabama Freedom Center for the Blind is seeking an orientation and mobility instructor trained in the structured discovery philosophy. The Freedom Center for the Blind was named after James Omvig?s book entitled Freedom for the Blind: The Secret is Empowerment. Our goal is to empower our blind students to live the lives they want without regard to the limitations imposed by societal misconceptions about blindness. Birmingham has incredible social opportunities, historic sites and museums, and recreational opportunities. The Freedom Center participates in many of these activities. The Freedom Center?s parent organization, the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind, offers professional development opportunities, including annual travel to the NFB national convention. Please consider joining us to continue building the Alabama Freedom Center for the Blind. Sincerely, Tai Tomasi, J.D.
