This is an itinerant position which requires travel throughout a multi-county geographical area. Duties include assessing training needs and developing and implementing an appropriate Individualized Training Program for each consumer. Skills to be taught include all aspects of independent travel. Instruction in travel skills should result in an increase in independence and integration into the community. This is a great opportunity to work on your own, schedule your own appointments, and meet the needs of those who are visually impaired. Bachelor's degree from an accredited* college or university in Orientation and Mobility or a closely related field and certifiable in Orientation and Mobility by the Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation and Education Professionals (ACVREP) or the National Orientation and Mobility Certification Board (NOMC)
