JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under limited supervision, administers, designs, updates and monitors a
comprehensive adjustment to blindness program for the benefits of South
Carolina Commission for the Blind (SCCB) Consumers in the Vocational
Rehabilitation program. Creates, maintains and evaluates clear focus on
services and expected outcomes as directed by the SCCB Mission Statement and
the SCCB Vocational Rehabilitation Program. Provides proactive steps to
review and incorporate emerging data, methods, technology and ideas into
services provided and monitor efficacy in an evidence based practice model.
Provides supervision to others.
MINIMUM AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
A bachelor's degree and professional experience in human services or social
services programs.
Agency Additional Requirements: A Master's Degree in Rehabilitation
Counseling, Blind & Low Vision Studies, Clinical Social Work, or Blind
Education, plus two years experience in Vocational Rehabilitation serving
blind consumers and two years supervisory experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Agency Preferred: Orientation and Mobility (O&M) Certification and/or
Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC).
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
This is a leadership position which requires proactive action to ensure the
agency's mission and vision are guiding day to day practices. Some
overnight travel may be required.
