DARE TO BE REMARKABLE: Pathways Towards Structured Discovery - Call for
Presentations
DARE TO BE REMARKABLE is a three-day national training conference for
education and rehabilitation professionals who work with blind
transition-aged students or adults.
Date & Location
This conference will be hosted live via the Zoom conference platform through
the National Federation of the Blind Jernigan Institute
When: Tuesday, December 15 - Thursday, December 17
Time: 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time
Call for Presentations
We invite you to submit a proposal to present at this conference during one
of the concurrent breakout sessions scheduled on the afternoon of December
15, 16, and 17. Abstracts should be submitted on one of the following
conference themes or another closely related track:
. Structured Discovery methods and principles across the
lifespan.
. Agency-wide philosophy and culture on blindness.
. Educational technologies, policies, and practices for
teachers of blind students.
. Rehabilitation methods, principles, and policies that
effect instructors and administrators.
. Teaching Structured Discovery methods and techniques in
core subject areas (Cane Travel, Braille, etc.).
. Successful transition from education to rehabilitation.
. Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) strategies
and programs.
Proposals should include:
. Title of Presentation
. Name and contact information for lead presenter
. Name and contact information of additional presenters
(If any).
. Indicate whether you are willing to repeat the
presentation.
. AV requirements (note: you may be required to provide
your own equipment)
. Abstract that includes a description of the workshop
and what participants will learn. Proposals should not exceed 200 words in
length.
