The Office of Vocational Rehabilitation empowers individuals with
disabilities to maximize employment, achieve economic self-sufficiency and
independence, and to contribute back to society. We also help businesses and
employers recruit, retain and accommodate employees with disabilities.
We are seeking a Voc Rehab Counselor Certified II to demonstrates an expert
level of proficiency in highly specialized rehabilitation counseling and
caseload management oversight for consumers with disabilities who are
seeking gainful employment and functions autonomously to ensure consumers
receive appropriate guidance in rehabilitation areas that are specialized to
meet the needs of the consumers who have one or a combination of complex
disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Functions autonomously as voc rehab expert and serves as team leader;
collects, interprets and evaluates medical, psychological and vocational
reports to determine eligibility for services for consumers with complex,
highly specialized rehabilitation needs; coordinates services with other
professionals; and conducts assessments to evaluate services needed for
consumers to prepare for and retain gainful employment.
Plans, coordinates and manages delivery of services based on assessments,
vocational counseling, goals and Individual Plans for Employment (IPE)
developed with consumers; manages caseload budgets; in absence of, or as
directed by manager, approves rehabilitation plans and expenditures for
staff; and trains and mentors other counseling staff, provides consultation
services for less- experienced staff.
Works extensively with employers throughout a district in performing job
development, job analysis, and follow-up services; assures job placement is
consistent with consumers' unique strengths, abilities and interests and
arranges services such as job coaching, etc. from professionals needed for
complex cases; and assesses needs for rehab technology.
Acts as a subject matter expert; develops and maintains case documentation
and Case Management System (CMS) data; prepares correspondence; interprets
and applies agency policies and state and federal laws; manages programs and
affirmative action related to consumers' needs; and travels frequently
throughout the district to provide services to consumers and to resolves
consumer complaints.
Develops referrals; performs public relation functions and partners with
organizations, schools, physicians, etc. to provide services to consumers
and to develop resources; serves on local and statewide boards and
committees; coordinates inter-agency activities; seeks consumer resources;
assists in writing guidelines; and conducts technical presentations.
Performs other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have three years professional
experience in rehabilitation counseling.

certification as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) as administered

Working Conditions
Work is performed primarily in an office setting. Occasional travel will be
