Hi, Lerone, At the New Mexico Commission for the Blind Orientation center, we are not a medical facility and there are no medical or health professionals on staff. Students are permitted to keep their medications and use them without supervision. Consumers who are unable to administer their own medications are not admitted to the Orientation center. Students who use sharps are required to have a safe method for disposing of sharps. I would be happy to share our admissions documentation with you if you feel that it would be helpful.
