Structure Discovery Professionals Educational Trainings As part of the NOMCT Committee's commitment to continuous learning and professional development, the education subcommittee is proud to present our first training session. Topic: Structured Discovery Terminology Summary: Join us for our first Structure Discovery Professionals Educational Training sessions where we will delve into essential terminology and concepts crucial for Structured Discovery. This will be a two-week training session that will be for 1 hour each covering different materials that will progressively complement each other. The seminar will explore topics including the difference between the visual and cognitive paradigms, discovery learning versus guided learning, self-efficacy what it is and how to build it, Socratic questioning, intrinsic vs extrinsic motivation, locus of control, transferability, reasons for a long white cane, and the importance of shades. Part 1: Tuesday, May 21st, 2024 Time: 8:00 PM EST Part 2: Tuesday, May 28th, 2024 Time: 8:00 PM EST This seminar will offer CEU's required for recertification. Stay tuned for Zoom details and further information! About the Subcommittee: The education subcommittee's goal is to provide valuable educational opportunities for NOMC's throughout the year. We aim to host three training sessions annually, scheduled for October, February, and May, covering a range of relevant topics to enhance your expertise in the field. A survey will go out before the National Convention to get input on desired future training as well as the interest of potential presenters for these training courses.
