I guess I should have responded to the whole group but I just told Jeff that my 14-year-old and I are having a great time. Mom is a big help and a big believer in what we are doing. He has attended a buddy program in Louisiana so we don?t have a whole lot of philosophical work to do but I did encourage them to download walking alone and marching together and copied the DB number so that he could find it on his bard. I told mom she should listen to it with him as the book is a very thick tome and she probably won?t want to sit still and read it in print. This young man is very eager to get involved in the organized blind movement. We need to encourage the Louisiana affiliate to make sure this family doesn?t slip through the cracks and that they get swept up in as many activities as Louisiana offers during the school year. They have been to a state convention and were thinking about driving to Houston before the Covid emergency. I Mom pointed out that one of the good things about a virtual convention is that people who cannot afford to go to a live convention will have more freedom to attend this one. That is so true. They didn?t even try to go to Las Vegas last year because it was too expensive. And I thought about all the money I?m saving and it makes sense. I hope everybody else is having a good time too. ? Hi all, I have a very little one. The parents and sister are blind and they all use nfb canes so those preliminary discussions about need for cane are not the areas we are focusing. Since their daughter is so young I have been sending little cane themed songs and activities to do with her individually and also as a family. We been emailing back and forth frequently.
