Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services (ADRS), Office of Vocational
Rehabilitation in Mobile is looking for a certified or certifiable
Orientation & Mobility Specialists who is eager to help build confident
travel skills in individuals with visual impairments.
This is an itinerant position which requires travel throughout a
multi-county geographical area. Duties include assessing training needs and
developing and implementing an appropriate Individualized Training Program
for each consumer. Skills to be taught include all aspects of independent
travel. Instruction in travel skills should result in an increase in
independence and integration into the community.

Qualifications
. Bachelor's degree from an accredited* college or university in Orientation
and Mobility or a closely related field and certifiable in Orientation and
Mobility by the Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation and
Education Professionals (ACVREP) or the National Orientation and Mobility
Certification Board (NOMC)
