Subject: AER Seeking Your Feedback on ACVREP's Proposed Certification
AER seeks your feedback regarding ACVREP's proposed certification and the
related criteria and requirements for Certified Vision Rehabilitation
Occupational Therapists (CVROT). Below is a link to a brief 10-question
survey. The purpose of the survey is for the AER Board of Directors to
collect information about the perspectives of its members and all
professionals in the field. We invite any professionals serving in the field
to complete the survey (AER members and non-members). The questions on the
survey will allow us to sort the data to filter between members and
non-members while gathering data to understand the full landscape of the
field. The data will be reviewed at the January 24th AER Board meeting.
Survey results will be shared with the membership. We will use the
information to support our members and do everything we can to represent our
professions as we continue discussions with ACVREP representatives.
Please note:
1. The AER survey will be open until end of day on January 20, 2025.
2. Any professional in the field of blindness and low vision is invited to
complete the survey (both AER Members and non-members).
3. The link to AER's survey is here.
4. In addition to this survey, AER members are invited to send comments to
the AER Board at aer@aerbvi.org. All comments will be compiled and presented
at the next AER Board Meeting.
5. ACVREP has an open comment period requesting specific, constructive
feedback on the proposed certification criteria and requirements. All
recommendations for expanding, adding, removing, etc., as well as specific
certification requirements, will be considered by the Subject Matter Expert
Committee when revising the criteria. The more specific the feedback in the
sections of the proposed criteria for certification, the better. Visit
www.acvrep.org for the comment period announcement and submit your feedback
on the proposed certification criteria to comments@acvrep.org.
6. We encourage all professionals in the field of blindness and low vision
to submit feedback on the criteria to ACVREP directly, as outlined in the
comment period announcement. This AER survey should not substitute your
feedback to ACVREP.
